Why train with us?

Swindon and Gloucestershire Mind:

Swindon and Gloucestershire Mind has been supporting the mental health of people in the county for decades.  We are experts in the field of mental health. We use our knowledge and experience to deliver training to workplaces large and small.

Support your local community, we are non-profitable

Swindon and Gloucestershire Mind is a charity and training fees go towards funding our services. We are not profitable, it goes back into us, for local mental health support. We operate a free, confidential helpline and wellbeing hubs throughout the Swindon and Gloucestershire.  We have seen an increase in the numbers of people needing support and the more funding we have available, the more people we can help.  These services are available to your staff free of charge.

Your staff

Our live, interactive sessions are delivered online, so no matter where your staff are working, they can benefit.  The group dynamic serves to increase cohesion and morale within teams.

We are local and establish long term relationships with our clients, to help support staff now and in the future.

Our Team

Our trainers have trained with Mental Health England to deliver the accredited Mental Health First Aid courses, as well as independent sessions.

Our expert trainers have delivered training to thousands of participants at organisations across Swindon and Gloucestershire.  It is likely we have worked with people in your industry.  We can provide references to demonstrate our level of quality and service.

Quality and Assurance

We are proud to hold the Enhanced Quality Assurance Mark in Workplace Wellbeing, awarded by National Mind. This nationally recognised framework demonstrates our commitment to delivering high-quality, relevant, and impactful training and wellbeing services. Achieving this enhanced standard involved a thorough review of our delivery approach, evidencing our dedication to best practice, client satisfaction, and continuous improvement.

As a trusted provider within the Mind network, we offer not only extensive expertise in mental health but also the credibility and consistency that come with our affiliation to National Mind.

We understand the unique needs of different audiences, organisations, and local communities, and tailor our services and training accordingly. For example, we currently deliver a Cost-of-Living Workshop designed to help professionals understand the impact of financial pressures on mental health. All of our training is evidence-based and grounded in the latest research. We also ensure our programmes are sensitive, inclusive, and accessible to the diverse needs of participants, supported by our Digital and Marketing Officer’s experience in creating inclusive and accessible content. In addition, we work closely with clients to co-design and adapt programmes that reflect their organisational goals, needs, and audiences, enabling us to collaborate effectively in delivering high-quality training.

Engaging and Inclusive Learning

We are committed to designing and delivering training that is engaging, accessible, and inclusive for all participants. Prior to each course, we assess and understand the specific needs of the group, including learning preferences, accessibility requirements, and prior knowledge, to ensure both the resources and delivery approach are fully inclusive. For example, learners receive an online workbook that is available in multiple formats, including printed copies, large print, and accessible PDFs to support colour filtering, magnification, or narration. We have also worked with interpreters and can provide simplified lesson formats to support interpreted sessions, alongside the use of Language Line where required.

To further support inclusive learning, we use a variety of training methods such as PowerPoint presentations, videos, group activities, paired discussions, individual reflection, and case studies that incorporate expert-by-experience and lived-experience perspectives. We also use interactive tools, such as Mentimeter, to gather quick feedback and encourage participation.

We are dedicated to delivering high-quality learning that is both consistent and continuously evaluated. Our trainers have the expertise and flexibility to adapt their approach in response to learner needs and feedback, ensuring sessions remain engaging and effective. Where needed, adjustments are made to enhance the learning experience while maintaining high delivery standards.
